The couple met while attending the University of Dallas and now have 5 children from the ages of 2 to 14! They share the importance of their faith and the power of prayer and perseverance…

What role does your faith play in your family life?

It’s everything! It keeps us going and reminds us that God put us together for a reason. He has big plans for us, and we are supposed to learn together why God has designed us to fit perfectly together.

How do you bring your faith into everyday life?

We celebrate feast days – especially those saints we have designated to watch over our children – their middle names are for those saints. Prayer in the car to start our day on the way to school. recalling the blessings and struggles of our day at dinner each night, nightly prayer, blessing the children regularly, and stopping to visit the blessed sacrament.

What do you hope your children understand from your devotion to the Rosary?

We want our children to understand that the Rosary is our strongest line of defense. We want them to understand that through a devotion to the Holy Rosary, Our Lady will keep them protected.

Share a moment when the Blessed Mother has helped you through a difficult time.

Motherhood is the BIGGEST challenge and the biggest blessing. We turn to Mary for all the day to day love and support that we are sure she gave Jesus.

What aspect of your faith do you hope to impart to your children?

Hard things are worth working for, and devoting your life to God’s plan will bear fruits that we will only be able to see in retrospect. So stay the course and give it all to God.

It’s not about feeling good all the time. It’s about giving of yourself entirely to God and others. The fruits come from that even though it can sometimes feel hard to stay committed.
