Meet Haylee and her husband, Louis Jones!

Originally from Southeastern Indiana, Haylee met Louis on CatholicMatch.com in February of 2020. She visited him in St. Louis where he was living with his two children, Mila (11) and Elijah (9). They got married in June of 2021, and Haylee moved to St. Louis from Indiana and began her third year of teaching while Louis was finishing his Masters in Social Work at the Brown School at Washington University. They moved back to Louis’ hometown of Belleville, IL, in July of 2022 and welcomed their first child together, Peter(14 mo), in September of 2022! 

What role does your faith play in your family life?

Faith plays the role of the foundation of our family’s values, day-to-day living, and experience with relationships. Our days start and end with some sort of prayer, and we try to incorporate feast days of the saints and frequent reception of the Sacraments into our daily lives. 

What is your favorite family devotion?

We love to pray the rosary as a family. We can do it anywhere and everywhere! Each person in the family is able to be involved, and meditating on the mysteries gives us a glimpse into the life of Jesus.

What do you hope your children understand from this devotion? 

We want them to remember that Mary is their mother too. And she knows Jesus’ heart better than anyone else, so we should go to her for prayers! 

What about your faith do you hope to impart on your children?

God is personally present to each of us… He hears and answers our prayers! Trust is the foundation of our faith. 

How has Our Lady impacted your family life?

Our Lady has played a huge role in my vocation as a wife and mother solely on her living a vocation as a wife and mother. She’s the perfect model that I turn to often, in the best and most difficult moments. The various devotions to Mary have influenced the way I encounter people in many different walks of life, as she has revealed herself to so many types of people in places throughout the world.
